2 More Days To Get Ready…or is it 1?

If you are reading this on the day it was published you now have 48 hours (more or less depending on where you are) before the exam. It’s a big moment and you want to make very efficient use of your time before the exam. Today, I think you should spend as much time as possible working on the exam. If you do not feel like you have done enough Mock Exams, you could always do some more. Personally, I’m not a fan of doing one just before the exam. There’s some good and some not so good points about doing one but in my opinion, it’s very time consuming and a bit risky. How so?

Your Confidence Matters At This Point

Knowing the material is critical but feeling prepared is almost as important. Many candidates perform under their ability at the exam simply because they get too nervous and cannot perform at the best of their ability. Honestly, at this point, especially given the quantity of material included in the exam, you will not improve your grade by 10-15%. You might get a few more % but you should feel like you did what you needed to do. There’s no point in thinking about the “what if’s” or the “I should have”. You did your best under the circumstances that you had and you have a decent shot of passing the exam no matter what. In your next to last day, you can spend time on a few important sections that you’ve been struggling with. Read the book, do a few Qbank questions, etc. Don’t try to do too much or to review everything, you will simply add stress and looking at every chapter in one or two days will not help you in any way.

What You Can Do At This Point To Maximize Your Chances

What you can do at this point is not about the actual material. It’s about your body and your mind. Spend some time thinking about your exam strategy, how you want to approach it, how you plan on doing in the exam. Build up your confidence.

As for your body, that is especially true on your last day. Take care of yourself, sleep well, eat well, and spend some time outside. Why? Because at this point, being sharp, not feeling tired midway through your exam and being able to have a vivid memory and a sharp mind should be your main priorities. If you can do some sports, that would be great as well.

It’s Almost Over

At this point, you are almost done. Remain focused, stick to your plan and you will be able to party after the exam. Best of luck to all of you.
